Comedian and Actor Martin Mull Dies at 80

Martin Mull, the beloved comedian, actor, musician, and artist, has passed away at the age of 80. His daughter, writer and producer Maggie Mull, confirmed the news in a touching Instagram post, sharing that he died peacefully at home after a long illness. She described him as โ€œa brilliant and versatile man,โ€ whose talent touched many corners of entertainmentโ€”from television to music to fine art.

Mull was best known for his memorable roles as Leon Carp on Roseanne, the eccentric Coach Kraft on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and the bumbling private investigator Gene Parmesan on Arrested Development. In 2016, he received his first and only Emmy nomination for his guest role on Veep.

Beyond acting, Mull was also a musician and songwriter. He wrote the country parody hit โ€œA Girl Named Johnny Cashโ€ and toured performing musical comedy, even opening for legends like Frank Zappa and Bruce Springsteen.

From TV sitcoms to Red Roof Inn commercials, Martin Mull brought wit, charm, and originality to everything he touched. He leaves behind a legacy filled with humor, heart, and endless creativity.
