DMV rules mom’s vanity plates inappropriate after 15 years

In 2019, Wendy Auger, a mother of four from Rochester, New Hampshire, was ordered by the DMV to give up her vanity license plate “PB4WEGO,” which she had used for 15 years. The plate was a playful reminder to her kids to “pee before we go,” but the DMV claimed it referred to “sxual or excretory acts or functions,” which violated state rules.

Wendy, who works as a paralegal, was shocked. She explained that the message was harmless, family-related, and something many parents say. After sharing the DMV’s letter and photos of the plate on Facebook, the post went viral, gaining support and sparking outrage online. Many people found the situation ridiculous and defended the humorous, relatable message behind the plate.

The attention caught the eye of New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, who stepped in to overturn the DMV’s decision. He personally called Wendy to say the issue had been resolved and that she could keep her plate. Wendy proudly updated her followers with the message: “This Sassy Momma Has Her Plates!!!”
