Anya couldn’t understand why her mother needed Arthur in their lives. She wanted her mom to be happy, but not with him. Sitting on the couch pretending to read, Anya overheard Arthur on the phone, clearly cheating. Disgusted, she slammed the book shut. Arthur noticed and shut himself in the bedroom.
Needing support, Anya went to her best friend Petka at the nearby barracks, hidden behind tall trees separating their neighborhoods. Petka, older and wise, listened as Anya explained Arthur’s lies and her mother’s blindness. He encouraged her to talk honestly with her mom, but Anya knew it wouldn’t be easy.
That evening, Arthur announced he’d be out at a bar with a “friend.” Alla, trusting him, handed over money without suspicion. Later, she tried to talk to Anya, who confronted her with the truth about Arthur’s cheating. Alla angrily dismissed her, saying she was too young to understand.
At night, loud arguments woke Anya. Arthur’s disrespect was clear. The next day, Anya and Petka planned how to expose Arthur before the wedding on the tenth.
Anya overheard Arthur arranging for a girl named Kolya to pose as his girlfriend at the wedding. Furious, she realized he never loved her mother.
On the wedding day, Anya couldn’t bear watching her mother’s happiness built on lies. When called to speak, she took the mic and said, “Mom, I love you and want you to be happy.” Then a video played showing Arthur with another woman. The guests stared in shock. Alla was silent, hurt, and angry. Anya fled the room, tears flowing.
Outside, Petka comforted her. Soon Alla appeared, apologizing and hugging Anya. She admitted she had ignored the truth to live in a fantasy. They laughed and planned a party to celebrate honesty and new beginnings.
