The man’s expression softened. “Wow, I didn’t mean to assume anything. I guess we all project what we’re feeling onto others.” He laughed awkwardly and apologized. Then, surprisingly, we started talking—about boundaries, self-worth, and how often people misread situations because of their own insecurities.
By the time I left the restaurant, I felt a surge of empowerment. That brief encounter had reminded me of something vital: our value isn’t defined by anyone else’s assumptions or expectations. Standing firm in your own path matters more than explaining yourself to anyone who misjudges you.
